Cheers to Friendship

We have friends that we only talk to once or thrice a year. Yet, every time we speak with them it's as though we have been keeping up with each other every day for the past ten years. The flow is seamless, the energy is amazing and they are all positive vibes. We can just feel how happy we both are to hear from each other again, with clear conscience and understanding if you take a deeper and closer look, this is a kind of friendship that both parties have an unspoken understanding. That you both have separate lives to leave but care for each other dearly.
Without constant communication, you are both secure in the bond that you share, you realize that you're adults now and busy with life as such, will not always be available for check-ins, and do not keep scores about who last reached out.

On the other hand, there are friends that if you don't message them in a day, you just committed a crime, lol "you just forgot about me," or "I'm here o, where you left me." If you agree with me it is usually stressful dealing with these kinds of people. It gets to a point you will be conscious and timeous when reaching out.
The kind that would keep your heart racing that, "I've not messaged Prisca today o, so let me quickly message her before she gets angry again."
It might feel like you always go out of your way, trying to make sure that you don't do anything to upset them.

On the other hand, there are those friends with whom you regularly stay in touch, you guys check up on each other almost every day. This is not from a place of not wanting to offend each other. These things come easily. It is like we never run out of things to say and even when we do, the silence is often very comfortable.
At the same time, you could have friends that you only speak two a few times a year, and every time you guys connect, it is always like something is missing. There is no flow and so much awkwardness. You would even ask yourself, why did I come here sef?
If you can relate to this kind, I think you might need to consider the possibility that you guys aren't friends and are more acquaintances.

In summary understanding the friendship dynamics we share with people help us relate with them better, thereby improving the qualities of these relationships. It also helps us to know those who are just acquaintances, and the friendship to let go of.
Let me know in the comment section other communication styles you might have found yourself developing with some of your other friends. Cheers to making it this far.
