Be Kind to Your Brain

What's funny about humans
One of the things that I find quite funny and ironic at the same time is, we all want the BEST things to happen to us. However, we do the WORST to ourselves.
We want people to support, guide, and help us in our journey while we don't know what we are doing to our brains.

Okay, let me get straight to the

point.

Anything you want to achieve in your life, be it success, money, fame, spirituality, or anything else, it all starts with YOURSELF.

It may all seem complicated and overwhelming to see 'so many dif ferent approaches' to achieve success on the internet and you might have tried some just to find yourself back in your rabbit hole.

However, it all boils down to this, Knowing what you want. Keeping your focus sharp. Training your brain to get addicted to your goals.

That's it.
Though, the reality is exactly the opposite.

People want one thing today and a totally different thing tomorrow because they saw someone else making big in that new area. Their focus shifts more frequently.

And don't even get me started on how we are treating our brains. We don't think twice before over- stuffing our brains with any random garbage we find around us.

In simple words, just as your phys- ical body is a reflection of what you eat so is your brain a reflection of what you stuff your brain with.

Just as eating junk food every day without moving your body can cause serious damage to your body. Similarly, stuffing useless content in your brain can make your brain weak and damaging,
Just look around you or perhaps within you, and you will see how people are losing their mental capacity faster than ever. Perhaps, that's the reason we need YouTube and books for everything. People are literally searching on YouTube, 'how to be productive'

I mean seriously?

Is it that tough? You have a BRAIN that works well enough to tell you that the only way to become productive is to get your ass on your chair and start working. Simple, isn't it?

But no. Nah! They need hacks, techniques, and some good-looking solutions from a person who doesn't have any specific knowledge on the topic except for stating the same hacks you find all over the internet.

This right here is the prime ex-
ample of what we have done to our

brains and where we are headed as a

society.

How can you need someone else to tell you the basics of your own life?

This shows how dependent we are on others and all of it because we didn't give a sh*t about what we are feeding our brain with.

I am not talking in thin air. After reading multiple books on how our brain functions and ages, I have learned that 'your brain ages'

Yes, you heard that right. Just like your physical body ages so does your brain. However, the age of your brain and the age you have on your license can be different.

Your brain's age has nothing to do with your actual age. Your brain can either be younger or elder than
your actual age. Why?

Depending on what you eat, and treat your brain, your brain will either age faster or slower.

For example; If you are 25 then it's not necessary that your brain's age is 25 as well. Maybe your brain is 23 or 30 years old.

The problem is if your brain is aging faster than your real age, that shows your mental capability will start slowing down. If you feel tired, and sleepy more than you should, it means your brain's capacity is slowing down which means your brain is aging faster.

Now, some people might say that getting tired easily or feeling sleepy all day is quite common in our gen eration, isn't it? That doesn't serve as solid proof.

To those people, I would say, THIS IS THE STRONGEST PROOF you have to see how the entire system is designed to make us mentally weak so that we are easier to manipulate and take advantage of.

For example; People don't feel tired to see their mobile phones but they feel tired when it comes to studying, writing, or working on the real stuff. They feel distracted. Why?

Because that's how things are designed. You don't need focus to laugh on stupid jokes you see on so- cial media or be lost among trend- ing reels/TikTok. That's why it's easier to enjoy a mobile phone. And that's the same reason why your mental muscles are getting weak.
You and I are practicing every day to not practice focus.
Read that again.

We are learning to make our mental muscles weaker and fragile. How? By not working or focusing on the real stuff. By letting our brains wander anywhere.

Don't tell me it's not designed delib- erately. It's not a coincidence. It's a well-researched cage that extracts our capability to think straight.

However, complaining about it wouldn't make any impact, right? So, here is what I am doing to be KIND to my brain.

1. Don't Consume Content Mindlessly: God is kind enough to bless us all with a brain but here we are. You and I consume content like we breathe air. One after another
video, one after another blog, one after another podcast.

It doesn't matter what the content is, positive or negative. What matters is YOU DON'T THINK ANYMORE. After watching one video, you must take pause, close your eyes, and repeat in your mind what you just heard. Then you should ask yourself, 'what part of the video makes sense and what doesn't'

YouTubers, Podcasters, or Social media influencers are also people, not God. Hence, it is not essential that what they say is correct or suitable for your life. Eliminate what doesn't make sense to you, and ask yourself if you can in any way implement the advice you heard or things like that.

Don't just consume content and say, 'oh my god, what a video or what a podcast'
THINK BEFORE YOU LET ANY ADVICE OR THOUGHT SIT IN YOUR MIND.

2. Think Like You Own Your Brain:

One of the reasons why I used to be dependent on others is that I never believed in myself enough to my own choices.

However, waiting for someone perfect to come and tell me what should I do next is even more pathetic. Do you know why?

Because:

a) It signals your brain that you don't trust yourself enough to make your own decisions. You are not capable enough to rely on yourself which further lowers your self-image and confidence.

b) You keep waiting but no one shows up. And even if you get some
advice from someone reliable, your life becomes a product of someone else's choices. You don't get to experience how it feels like to own your life.

And that's why I want to ask you to THINK LIKE YOU OWN YOUR BRAIN AND LIFE.

It's fine if the choices you make turn out as a disaster but at least it will be all yours. You will learn to own your decisions and turn things in your favor. And that will set a line of proof for your brain to create strong self-belief and an even stronger self-image.

You will start feeling a strange kind of confidence that births from your experiences and mistakes rather than hacks.

So, make your life YOURS by

THINKING INDEPENDENTLY,
3. Be Mindful of Your Food Habits:

The entertainment and media industry taught us that 'a slim body is sexy'

Every model has a flat stomach and so girls are starving themselves to look like a princess.

But what everyone forgot to teach us is that 'a healthy brain is the sexiest thing on the face of the earth'

I don't care if you are fat or slim. But I do care if your brain is healthy or not.

And a healthy brain has a lot to do with WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR MOUTH. (now, don't think otherwise, and allow me to explain)

There are certain food that are good for your brain health while some aren't.

Green leafy vegetables, walnuts,
avocado, and citrus fruits are good for your brain. These types of food keep your brain younger. However, foods like pizza, burgers, and soft drinks (most) are bad for your brain.

Just as your body demands a healthy diet for a good figure, your brain demands specific food to function properly.

Other than that, you need to keep your brain running to build the mental muscles stronger. How do you do that? By thinking critically and focusing on doing the real work. Playing sports, painting, knit- ting and things that demand focus are some of the exercises that you can do to keep your brain stronger.

That's one of the reasons I started learning 'crochet and I can tell the difference.
Conclusion:

I hope after reading this blog, you become at least 1% kinder to your brain. And stop torturing your brain.
