Link3 and CyberConnect have been part of the buzz in the Web3 community over the past few weeks, as Link3 has recently announced their upcoming CyberAccount release. CyberAccount will be an ERC-4337-compatible smart contract account utilizing account abstraction in Web3.

I was first introduced to CyberConnect through one of my favorite Web3 SocialFi platforms, Phaver, an app that is building on Lens Protocol. Phaver was an early adopter of the original CyberConnect profiles, and has frequently used Link3 W3ST tokens to verify user participation in online events. Just this past week, Phaver hosted one of the launch events for CyberTrek, the step-by-step process to introduce new users to the benefits of CyberAccount. I'll go over each step in detail based on my own experience claiming and minting my CyberAccount and related digital assets below.

Step 1: Top Off Your Gas Tank

To begin with, you'll need at least 10 MATIC to "top off" your CyberAccount gas tank - this works out to be a little more than $6 USD. I found I was able to save up that amount very quickly by utilizing my earnings from my favorite faucet and PTC sites like CoinPayU and FaucetCrypto

One good thing to keep in mind while you're running through this process is that your CyberAccount is not only a profile, but essentially will become another crypto wallet once CyberAccounts are fully launched by Link3. So the MATIC you're depositing into your CyberAccount will remain there, and will be available to use to pay for gas fees when using said account. At this time, the crypto you transfer to your account is not able to be withdrawn - only used for transactions using your CyberAccount.

Step 2: Create CyberAccount & Claim NFT in Single Transaction

There are two benefits of your CyberAccount that this step is illustrating. The first benefit is that your CyberAccount can combine multiple transactions into one, such as this step where you'll create your account and claim your NFT in one stroke. The second benefit - and the one I'm personally most excited about - is that CyberAccount will allow users to pay gas fees in a multitude of cryptocurrencies regardless of the cryptocurrency a user originally used to top off their gas tank. For instance, I topped off my tank utilizing MATIC, but I minted my NFT on Optimism. I didn't need ETH on Optimism in my account - the equivalent amount of MATIC was deducted instead.

Something to remember when you're minting these digital assets: remember how I mentioned that this CyberAccount will eventually also double as a wallet once it's released? That means these assets are being minted to your CyberAccount's new wallet address, NOT to the wallet that you used to top off your gas tank. That confused me at first until I read the detailed notes on CyberConnect's Discord. Once you mint your assets, you can look up your CyberAccount Smart Contract Account Address on a site like DeBank. Once you search for your account, click on "Transactions" to see your minted digital assets.

Step 3: Mint CyberWallet Early Access NFT on Any Network

This is another opportunity for CyberAccount to show off the project's ability to mint on a variety of networks. You'll be given a list of networks available to mint your NFT, along with estimated gas costs on each chain. Again, it doesn't matter what cryptocurrency you used to fill up your gas tank - the equivalent $USD amount will be deducted from your account. Also, remember this NFT will also be attached to your new CyberAccount, and not minted to your funding wallet from step one.

Step 4: Claim Your Rewards

CyberTrek is also part of the upcoming CYBER airdrop from CyberConnect & Link3. If you've completed the three steps above, you'll automatically be able to claim your CyberPoints for your efforts. If you choose to share a Tweet about CyberTrek and/or add your email address to your Link3 account, you'll also be in the running for even more CyberPoints and other perks. CyberPoints will eventually be able to be used to claim CYBER tokens once available.

Conclusion

Will you be participating in CyberTrek and creating your CyberAccount? Do you have experiences you'd like to share from utilizing CyberConnect and Link3 in the past? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this project!
