The sudden rise of Helldivers 2
STATE OF GAMING IN 2023
The last two years for gaming can be summarized in two words: cash grabs. Big game studios sadly love predatory actions against their fellow customers, often jeopardising the relations Gamers - Developers.
But, on the horizon, a new game has emerged. Helldivers 2, a sequel to a game virtually no one has heard about, took the internet by storm.
WHAT IS HELLDIVERS 2?
Backed by Sony, Arrowhead games studios have created a blissful experience, that unionizes the community to fight common enemies. Its a third person, squad based, horde shooter with beautiful graphics and immersive surroundings. The formula is nothing new, but when done right it gives an enormous amount of satisfaction!
When playing, we "work" as a fellow helldiver from "Superearth" (actual in-game name). People of this planet are under an autoritarian regime that wants to spread its power all around the universe. That is where we are needed. The ones that spread "democracy" and "family values" are we ourselves. There is an ongoing war where the helldivers need to fight giant bugs and automatons (cyborgs) on different planets across the galaxy.
The game is completely satiric and with its humor has captivated hundreds of thousands of players that daily want to commit their precious time to cover the frontiers.

WHY PEOPLE AROUND THE GLOBE ADORE THE GAME?
The gaming world needs games that actually reward players for playing the game. The battlepasses are possible to be bought by just playing the game and overall the game does not fell money-oriented.
The second fact is that its a really solid game for groups of people, you can play it solo or with friends.
And last but not least, it gives a sense of community, a sense of contributing to a bigger goal that lacks in other titles. You can see starships of other players, you can see the percentages of liberation of other planets and everything summarises into an excellent and immersive experience.
IF THERE IS A HELLDIVERS 2, THAT MUST MEAN THAT ON THE INTERNET EXISTS HELLDIVERS 1?
Well, yes. There is a "Helldivers 1". It did not gain much traction mainly thanks to its gameplay that revolved around strategizing from a top down view (it was seen as repulsive for a lot of players). By no means its a bad game, its just that its not a game for a vast audience

IS IT WORTH IT?
I do believe that the game is worth its price, and with constant updates on the way, it may become an internet behemoth that will stay for a long time.
