Telegram Phone is encouraging FOMO by continuously announcing airdrops.

It is also said that there will be a secondary sale soon.

I am writing this in case there is someone who cannot resist FOMO and presses the purchase button. This is why I think this is a scam.

2/ To put it bluntly, it appears that OysterLabs actually participated in the tone event with this phone, but it turned out that this phone was not an actual phone from OysterLabs. We will explain below.
3/ The identity of this phone is a model called ‘GT 10 Pro’, a high-end gaming phone made by a Chinese manufacturer called ‘Infinix’, and is a high-spec phone released in 2023. The unusual appearance, unique screen ratio, etc. are 100% consistent with the images released by Oyster Labs on Twitter and website.
4/ Actual photo of Infinix GT10 Pro. It’s the same as the phone Oyster Labs is holding above.
5/ It may not seem like a big deal to Koreans, but this phone is the latest gaming phone that pays special attention to the cooling system and supports UFS 3.1 and a refresh rate of up to 120 MHz. This is definitely not a model that can be sold for $99.
6/ And the specifications of this phone are significantly different from those announced by Oyster Labs. One of the grounds for judging this phone to be a scam from the beginning was the specifications of this Telegram phone. If you manufacture it yourself, you cannot sell the phone for $99, so the specifications must be the same as the existing low-end phones, but there is no phone with these specifications.
7/ Crucially, when this content was mentioned in Oyster Labs’ Telegram room, all posts were deleted. (If it’s honest, why delete it?) Under the circumstances, it appears that pre-sales were initially terminated after the above information was discovered.
8/ After I posted today, several users asked about the above content, and it seems that the explanation given by a Korean modder on a Korean channel was that the appearance and phone specifications would also change. (Probably this is what was relayed from the team)
9/ But is it common sense to present a presentation with the wrong third-party phone, use it to get pre-sales, and then give away a completely different phone later? I think this is a very dangerous signal.

10/ Moreover, the above content has not yet been updated at all on the website or Twitter. If that’s real, it’s a big upgrade, so is there any reason not to promote it?
11/ In response, “Can’t I just get an ad?” I often see the same story, but I wonder whether a project that started off in a way that was no different from a scam will be operated soundly and honestly in the future.
