The Seat Of Eckstein High IV

   The entirety of Eckstein High had been soaked in the soggy feeling of silence. The whistling wind was the only sound that was heard. Every student sat quiet, mostly idle in their class awaiting their teachers. Dr. Ada had told them to cancel all their first two classes and that there would be a meeting for the entire staff before they begin teaching for the day. Even the staffroom was quiet, they knew the condition Erasmus left under, so they were curious as to whether he had returned to the school and as what? 

     Erasmus didn't want to go in, so he and Ada stood on the principal's office balcony. They both had their hands in their pockets, staring over the rails into the vastness of the school environment but not looking at anything. After they exchanged cold egotistic pleasantries, the duo did not say a word.

"Seeing you here, I suppose you accept my condition to be reinstated as Vice principal and are here with some of your own." Ada waved off the cloud of silence that hung over them.

"Naturally. I would ask to be made Co-principal, but I know there's no such thing." His words were planted root deep in so much pride.

"So what inconvenient considerations have you mustered up?" Ada asked with a smile.

"That you do not interfere with my dealings."

"As long as they are in acknowledgment of me being your superior... Done, you may do as you ethically see fit. I will be more of a supervisory figurehead."

"And while you have my esteem as my superior, and admiration as an academic equal, you will give me my respect as an older and by eons a far more experienced man, teacher, and vice principal."

"Of course."

"Then we have an accord." Erasmus concurred and pulled his right hand out of his pocket to shake Ada, who did the same.

"I called a staff meeting which begins in the next 12 minutes. We will announce your return to Eckstein there."

"Wonderful," Erasmus said with a smile eviler than that of the devil.
