Hello investors,

A year back metaverse was the topic in every tech page, talking about how we will work, school, play and so on through a virtual reality. A digital world where everyone can simply become anything or anyone.


What is metaverse

The metaverse is a connection of worlds through virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality, which seeks to increase the interaction between online users.

The goal of the big brands is to create a digital ecosystem similar to reality.
This universe will be a personal and business challenge, where companies will have to manage all areas, including their image.

Companies like ReputationUP has also updated its services based on the new reality and is the first company worldwide in online reputation management in the metaverse. But what really happened? Why is metaverse on a slow pace now.

According to Forbes, in October of 2021, Mark Zuckerberg laid out a vision for his metaverse strategy. In his comments and demos, he made it sound like the metaverse was just around the corner. He had already had some success with Meta's Quest headset and had been using that to introduce over 1 million who bought both the Meta Quest models 1 and 2 to introduce VR and its potential.

Nearly two years later, Mr. Zuckerberg still believes strongly about the future of the metaverse, however, he has recently pivoted to a more dedicated focus on AI currently and streamlining his business and operations for more short-term profitability.

A recent WSJ column entitled "The Metaverse is Quickly Turning into the Meh-taverserecently emphasized the current disconnect of a metaverse happening anytime soon and the newer tech industry shift to AI instead. Indeed, if you follow tech, you know AI is now at the center of most of the tech world's activity and has more significant potential to affect our lives now and in the future.

However, as this WSJ article points out, "Mr. Zuckerberg isn't walking away from the metaverse, signaling that it remains a long-term focus for the company after AI. The two major technological waves driving our road map are AI today and, over the longer term, the metaverse," he said last month. "

Three key issues for the delay of metaverse


1● Getting the technology to the place with the capabilities and quality to bridge the gap between the real and virtual worlds is very difficult. As I have studied the technologies behind the optics, power demands, and consumer-acceptable designs needed to bring an XR headset to the masses, I am convinced that this is still many years away at the hardware level alone.

2● The broader business model that would drive consumer demand for the metaverse. My partner at ISMGuide.com, Barton Goldenberg, and I have created a free, no-ads Web site, the Metaverse Resource Center, with nearly 150 actual case studies of how VR, XR, and even AR are being used today.

3● The current climate of tech investment that has shifted from the metaverse to AI will set back the most significant innovation and advancements in the metaverse for the foreseeable future.

All areas of the digital sector are united to work in the metaverse:

  • Infrastructure: connectivity technologies such as the cloud, 5G or Wi-Fi;
  • Human interface: VR headsets, AR goggles, and other tools that bring users into the metaverse;
  • Blockchain technology;
  • Spatial computing, such as 3D visualization;
  • Creator economy: design tools and digital assets;
  • Advertising: advertisements, social networks, or reviews.


If looking from a wide range I will say the emergence of Artificial intelligence has slowed the metaverse creation. So many companies today are capitalising on it. While this is happening, until we see a need for metaverse people might not really queue into it like before.
