Health is a state of overall well-being and functioning of an individual’s body and mind. It is a complex and multifaceted concept that encompasses various aspects of physical, mental, and social well-being. Here are some key components of health:
Physical Health: This relates to your body’s condition. Proper nutrition, exercise, sleep, and disease prevention are crucial. It’s about feeling physically fit and functioning optimally.
Mental Health: It’s your emotional and psychological well-being. Emotional resilience, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and access to mental health support are essential components.
Social Health: Involves your ability to maintain healthy relationships and engage in social life effectively. Good communication, supportive relationships, and community involvement are key.
Spiritual Health: This isn’t just religious; it’s about finding purposemeaning, and connection to something greater. It’s having personal values and inner peace.
Environmental Health: Concerns your surroundings’ impact on well-being, like clean air and safe living conditions. Protecting the environment and sustainability are part of it.
Occupational Health: It relates to your work environment, including job satisfaction, work-life balance, and safety at work.
Intellectual Health: Involves mental stimulation and growth through learning, critical thinking, and creative expression.
Financial Health: Your financial well-being, including managing money, reducing financial stress, and securing your future.

Here I will quote from the book Human Factory Settings (IFA) to describe the fine line between being healthy and being dependent:
‘’Health is not just not being sick. It is not being fit, slim, cheerful and active all the time. Health is a holistic state of “Peace”. In this peace, our systems, working in harmony with each other, enable us to adapt to changing conditions by working at the most optimal level in all ups and downs, sadness and joy in life.
A person who can only “feel good” when certain conditions are met, only within the same narrow routine, is not healthy but “dependent”.
State of health is the ability to live in a state of harmony that maintains both mental and physical health, even in the face of different circumstances that we may encounter in life.’’- (Prof. Dr. Sinan CANAN)
