Astar Network Launches NFT Campaign to Celebrate Mainnet
Astar Network, a parachain on Polkadot, has revealed plans for an NFT initiative to commemorate the release of its Astar zkEVM mainnet, a Layer-2 Ethereum chain driven by Polygon tech.
Scheduled for Q1 2024, Astar’s NFT campaign marks the launch of the Astar zkEVM mainnet, crafted through the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK). Embracing its Japanese heritage, the campaign adopts the concept of Japanese capsule machines, offering random prizes.
Engagement in this campaign involves exploring the projects available on Astar zkEVM. The platform features on-chain and off-chain quests, granting users rewards including exclusive NFTs fashioned by Astar Network and other participating ventures.
The event promises an immersive experience based on Japanese folklore, injecting an element of intrigue and thrill. Rewards will be dispensed through virtual capsule machines, each uniquely tailored by the participating projects.
These rewards constitute an exclusive collection of Japanese-themed characters, allowing users to mint, collect, and interact with them. Further enhancements to these characters can be unlocked by meeting specific criteria and reaching milestones.
Maarten Henskens, Head of Astar Foundation, expressed enthusiasm about the Astar zkEVM launch alongside Polygon Labs in Q1 of the upcoming year. Henskens highlighted the solution’s importance for their enterprise partners in seamless Ethereum development. With over 320 organizations aligned with Astar and poised for the 2024 wave of web3 advancement in Asia, the initiative aims to globally invite projects, artists, and businesses new to web3 to join Astar zkEVM through this builder-friendly campaign.
