It’s Too Stressful
This is the excuse often given by those who tend to ignore Crypto. They enjoy the idea of enormous gains. However, the volatility and unpredictable nature keep them at arm’s length. It’s simply too much for them, leaving them exposed and feeling out of control. It’s true, the average no-coiner considers Crypto investments to be a gamble… a lottery ticket if you will… nothing more than a speculative play.
Crypto is very much a speculative investment, but then again, so are all investments. It’s just that Crypto is more speculative than your average index or dividend-paying stock. This is largely due to Crypto being a new and evolving asset class. All new industries experience enormous volatility during their formative years. The comparison has often been made to the dot com era when analyzing Crypto’s extreme volatility.
The introduction of Bitcoin ETFs alongside institutional investment has brought about a modest taming, regarding Bitcoin’s volatility. Altcoins however remain susceptible to extreme and unexpected volatility. This will be the case for some time. As this asset class matures and becomes more mainstream, it will become more “stable” and acceptable to a broader audience. However, by this time, the gains will have become marginal.
So, what should the average man on the street be doing? It’s rather simple. However, greed, ignorance, and poor risk management have blinded potential investors from a simple approach, which if practiced over the long term will produce stellar returns. For some reason, long-term strategies repel the average Joe. He’s not interested. Let me let you in on a little secret… the Bitcoin whales of today are the patient warriors of yesterday.
Reduced Risk & The BUIDL Mindset
Over the years, I have discussed many ways Crypto enthusiasts can generate free Crypto. WEB3 and its incentivized economy are rife with opportunity. Then there are airdrops, do-to-earn models, and other creative opportunities like DePIN mining. Every Crypto portfolio should be leveraging some of these opportunities. The more the better. Many of these opportunities require minimal time and effort.
There are, of course, opportunities that don’t require any time. This is often in the form of mining/farming points for future airdrops, and in some cases, mining the native token of a specific project. I address one of these opportunities in a recent post, “UpRock – Solana-Based Project Set To Launch UPT Token In May”. Other opportunities include mining points for GRASS and other up-and-coming projects.
Many of these are set-and-forget models. A diversified portfolio of creative accumulation, utilizing these strategies should be accompanied by a modest model of dollar-cost averaging. This can even be as little as 3% of your monthly salary. Provided you are consistently building for the future. You will be amazed at how these simple practices can compound over the years, especially with the surge of a renewed cycle.

Final Thoughts
Utilizing this approach, the average investor can forget about risk, volatility, and even loss. Sacrificing 3% of your salary every month won’t expose anyone to the possibility of financial ruin. This figure, can, of course, be adjusted. However, a lower figure is a safer option, especially if you are unfamiliar with the Crypto market. Over time, these disciplines begin to pay off. The key however is time…
